Through wearable augmented reality display, we designed a collection of “holographic food” menu consists of 3D digitally augmented food that allows the taster to experience food beyond its materialistic flavor. Using an object tracking algorithm, we could digitally introduce or replace 3D objects alongside physical and edible food materials. Even, fantastical and untasteable things such as dinosaur meat or unicorn t-bone steak could be in your dish! The project speculates on the culinary culture of people in space and the extraterritorial planets, where not all types of raw materials are accessible with agricultural technology but are indeed available in the form of a hologram.
